Congresswomen, Entertainers, Baseball players, and now Boxing Champs foreclosed upon?

Since I'm on a political slant today I forgot to mention the US House of Representatives has it's own walk away house gambler, Laura Richardson. She is the rep from Long Beach, CA who has purchased a house in Sacramento, CA. For those without a map that's like being the rep from suburban Atlanta, GA and owning a home in Harrisburg, PA.

Anyway first she said it was not true she worked it out. However this article here points out links to docs showing the house went to auction. Now we have some suspicion that she obviously lied about her income, a no no if you ask the IRS. Wonder what Barney Frank is thinking trying to get a bailout through congress when you have one of your own in the committing fraud?

Here's............a foreclosure!!!!!!!!! Ed McMahon the right hand man of the Tonight Show and everyone's favorite american family publishers sweepstakes spokesman has lost his house to Countrywide in a foreclosure. Last evening he was on Larry King live talking about it, blaming it on an injury, the economy and no joke Britney Spears!

Now from looking at at the pic below, he's not the only one on the high-end having issues.

Hat tip to the graphic above to drhousingbubble.

This one is a little old but former professional Baseball player Jose Canseco, who lost his house in Southern California due to divorces and well, it was not the "investment" is turned out to be. "It didn't make financial sense for me to keep paying a mortgage on a home that was basically owned by someone else."

Finally, and this is a new one, former heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield will have his house go up for foreclosure in Atlanta on July 1st. Sounds like a nice home 54,0000 sq ft with 109 rooms and a Bowling Alley. This guy earned $34 million for the fight in 1997 with Mike Tyson in which his ear was bitten. Seriously sad that you can burn through money like that but he's just like any other American caught up in this bubble, just a lot more cash flow.

I commented on this on my blog (dansdeepcreekblog.blogspot.com) as well which I started in part to give an opposing view to all the realtors at Deep Creek Lake talking about how great their market continues to be. It's all sunnyshine out there and they are still promoting no money down schemes and wreckless use of home equity. I found a nice cartoon here to show what happens when you forget that equity is not free money. Thanks for finding that link for me and I'll have to remember to go back and note where I found it too.

What's really disturbing is that these Congressmen are allowed to vote on this legislation. For any judge or lawyer, it would be a clear case of impropriety and they would be removed from the case. This is like having the perp decide his own case and then award himself damages against the police department.

Ed McMahon and his wife's pity party for themselves on Larry King was absolutely disgusting. They spent beyond their means, and now they want everyone to feel sorry for them. These are the people that will be bailed out! Give me a break!

Once again, goes to show that just because a person has nice cars or lives in a nice house, doesn't mean that they "have money" or that they're "rich" in any meaningful way.

Johnson Resigns, Joins Subprime Hall of Shame

"Join(s) former Texas Sen. Phil Gramm, who was advising Republican presumptive nominee Sen. John McCain on the mortgage bailout while lobbying for the investment bank UBS. "
I guess we now know why McCain flip-flopped and now fully supports a housing bailout.
